The General Manager, Corporate Communication of Eko Electricity Distribution Company, Mr. Godwin Idemudia, in a statement, appealed to its customers in Lagos and Ogun over the intermittent power supply saying that it is due to reduced load from national Grid.

He said the irregular power supply they are currently facing in the areas is not unconnected with reduced load capacity from the National Grid appealing to customers to be patient.

They areas listed to be affected include: Badagry in Lagos and Ogun Sate under Agbara District of the company.

Idemudia, however, told the residents of affected communities that it will soon be rectify and normalcy will return as the capacity increased.

“What we are presently getting from the Grid is not enough to meet the demand of our customer in Lagos Island of an impending maintenance work scheduled for Sunday January 22, between 9am -1pm.

“The maintenance work will require Fowler injunction substation to be temporarily shut down.

“So, Ikoyi and the environs under Island District will be out of supply during the period of the outage.

While appealing to customers to bear with them, he said, “EKEDC regrets any inconvenience caused by this irregular supply.

Idemudia also implored its customers to be watchful of hoodlums and vandals who may want to take advantage of the situation to carry out their evil plans.
