The lead Counsel of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has described Finland-based self-style Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa as a serial fraudster, saying he is not in position to speak on Kanu’s health condition.
Ejiofor made the remark while reacting to Ekpa’s claims that Kanu health condition is deteriorating in the custody of Department of State Service.
He said Ekpa who was not in the position to speak on Kanu’s health condition had said the detained IPOB leader may die in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.
Kanu has been in the DSS facility since June 2021 when he was arrested and subjected to extraordinary rendition from Kenya to Nigeria.
Despite the Appeal Court ordering his release after discharging and acquitting him of terrorism charges, the Nigerian government has refused to grant him freedom.
However, Ekpa had claimed that Kanu’s health was deteriorating and that he may die if nothing is done fast.
While reacting, Ejiofor accused Ekpa of using Kanu’s name to deceive unsuspecting Igbos.
A statement by Ejiofor said: “This serial fraudster- Simon Ekpa, is not in any position to speak on the medical health condition of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“In a bid to play on the emotions of Biafrans and exploit the genuine love they have for #MNK, the crime personified in Finland, quickly resorted to the use of the revered name of #MNK in his latest failed scheme, to keep his remaining gullible followers busy.
“Unfortunately, some people who ought to have learned much about this conman, are busy running with the false story which is a product of the evil imagination of a sick and depraved mind.
“The serial fraudster in Finland is a crime against humanity and a weapon fashioned against the entire Igbo race, and should be treated as such.”
