The English Football Association has charged a spectator for assaulting Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale following last weekend’s north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
This was disclosed by the Metropolitan Police on Tuesday.
Watts, a resident of north London’s Hackney, was charged on Tuesday and is scheduled to appear before Highbury Magistrates’ Court on February 17.
The Football Association, which governs football in England, “strongly denounced” the event after it occurred on Sunday, and Tottenham underlined that “violence in any form has no place in football.”
