Kevin De Bruyne delivered a masterclass performance to inspire Manchester City’s thrilling 5-2 comeback victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
The hosts found themselves trailing early, with Eberechi Eze and Chris Richards striking in the opening 21 minutes to hand Palace a surprising 2-0 lead.
But De Bruyne began the fightback with a sensational 25-yard free-kick in the 33rd minute, before delivering the cross that resulted in Omar Marmoush leveling the score just three minutes later.
City’s momentum continued after the break as De Bruyne provided another assist, this time setting up Mateo Kovacic to fire home just 80 seconds into the second half. James McAtee extended the lead following a long ball from goalkeeper Ederson.
Substitute Nico O’Reilly completed the scoring in the 79th minute, sealing a commanding win for the reigning champions, who moved up to fourth in the standings, two points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand.
