Tottenham Hotspur have activated the option to extend Son Heung-min’s contract, keeping their captain at the club until 2026.
The 32-year-old South Korean forward joined Spurs in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen.
Over the years, he has become one of the club’s standout players, making 431 appearances and netting 169 goals, a tally that places him fourth on the club’s all-time scoring chart.
Son took on the captaincy role in August 2023 and has been a key figure for the team.
He famously shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the 2021/22 season, scoring 23 goals in that campaign.
On the international stage, Son has been equally influential as the captain of South Korea, earning 131 caps and scoring 51 goals for his country.
This season, Son has registered seven goals across all competitions for Spurs, who currently sit 12th in the Premier League standings.
