Tottenham Hotspur’s struggles continued as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by a resurgent Wolverhampton Wanderers, courtesy of a late equalizer by Norwegian substitute Jorgen Strand Larsen in a thrilling Premier League encounter on Sunday.
Wolves struck early, with Hwang Hee-Chan finding the net in the seventh minute.
His low drive, following a short free-kick, ricocheted in off the post. Spurs responded swiftly, leveling the score five minutes later when Rodrigo Bentancur’s well-placed header from a corner beat goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Tottenham had a golden opportunity to take the lead before halftime, but Son Heung-Min’s penalty was saved.
They eventually edged ahead thanks to Brennan Johnson, who converted from close range.
The second half saw relentless end-to-end action, culminating in Strand Larsen’s dramatic 87th-minute goal to salvage a point for Wolves.
The draw leaves Tottenham in 11th place with 24 points from 19 matches, marking their lowest year-end position since finishing seventh in the 2008-09 season.
Meanwhile, Wolves sit 17th with 16 points, just two above the relegation zone.
