Former Chelsea midfielder, Joe Cole, has urged Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to secure the signature of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen during the upcoming transfer window.
Currently enjoying a prolific loan spell at Galatasaray from Napoli, Osimhen has rediscovered his best form in Turkey, notching 29 goals and delivering five assists in 33 appearances under manager Okan Buruk.
Although Arsenal had shown interest in the 26-year-old last summer, negotiations stalled due to his hefty €130 million release clause.
As the season draws to a close, Osimhen is expected to be on the move again, with Cole confident that the Super Eagles forward would be an ideal addition to the Gunners’ squad.
Speaking on the Dressing Room Podcast, Cole shared his thoughts, “Osimhen, I know he’s had this little strange one where he’s gone to Turkey, and he’s banging in goals, but he looks perfect for Arsenal for me.
“Isak, yeah, but why would he go to Arsenal now? If Newcastle could spend more, I can’t see Isak being an option. Osimhen is the one for me for Arsenal,” Cole said, as quoted by Standard UK.
