The former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Sokoto State, Ibrahim Milgoma has passed away after a prolonged illness.
According to The PUNCH, his death was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday by the party’s spokesman, Hassan Sanyinnawal.
Milgoma, who was deeply respected within the party, passed away on Tuesday, according to the statement.
Describing the loss as significant, the PDP highlighted Milgoma’s critical contributions to both the state and the nation.
“The late Ibrahim Milgoma was a distinguished gentleman and a respected leader who contributed immensely to the development of Sokoto State and Nigeria in general,” the statement noted.
Reflecting on his leadership, the PDP Sokoto State Chapter praised Milgoma’s dedication during his tenure, which played a crucial role in the party’s success in the 2019 general elections.
“Sokoto PDP has indeed lost a father and a respected leader who piloted the affairs of the party with the dedication and commitment that ensured the victory of our great party in the 2019 general election,” the statement added.
The party also extended prayers for Milgoma, asking that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
They expressed their deepest sympathies to his family and the people of Sokoto State, urging them to find strength during this difficult time.
