Falconets’ head coach, Chris Danjuma, has expressed confidence that his team is fully prepared for their upcoming Round of 16 clash against Japan.
Nigeria will face the Asian giants at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogota on Friday morning, in what promises to be a thrilling contest between two strong sides.
Japan enters the match with an impressive record, having topped Group E with a perfect nine points from their three group-stage games.
Meanwhile, the Falconets finished second in Group D, narrowly behind Germany, setting up this knockout-stage encounter.
Danjuma and his squad arrived in Bogota on Tuesday, and the head coach did not hesitate to affirm his team’s readiness to secure a victory.
“The girls have worked very hard to get to this stage, and we are proud of their efforts. We will be taking the knockout stages one match at a time,” Danjuma told thenff.com.
Eager to face a formidable opponent like Japan, Danjuma emphasized his team’s enthusiasm for the challenge.
“I must tell you that we are excited at the prospects of facing Japan and what that brings forth,” he added.
As both teams prepare for the high-stakes encounter, Danjuma’s confidence and the Falconets’ determination will be tested on the field, with the Nigerian team hoping to advance to the quarterfinals.
