The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps has reported an accident on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway involving a father and his son.
The incident occurred when a commercial bus, traveling from Sango to Lagos, lost control due to brake failure and hit the man and his son as they were crossing the road.
The South-West Zonal Commander of TRACE, Adekunle Ajibade, confirmed the details to the News Agency of Nigeria (in Ota, Ogun.
He explained that the father, who has a vision impairment, was being guided across the road by his son when the accident happened around 6:45 am at Tollgate.
“The victims sustained various degrees of injuries and were taken to the State Hospital, Ota, for treatment, while no death was recorded from the incident,” said Ajibade.
He emphasized the importance of vehicle maintenance, urging motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before driving.
Ajibade also warned against excessive speeding to reduce the risk of accidents.
