The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing attributes the slow progress of construction work on the Kaduna-Kano-Abuja road to the frequent attacks by bandits.
According to Daily Post, this was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mahmuda Mamman, after the inspection tour of the road.
He stated that due to the improved security situation, work on the route would soon be finished.
He continued by saying that the project’s contractor had pledged to finish it all by the deadline.
Mamman added that the ministry purposefully went on the familiarisation route from the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Motorway to track developments.
According to Mamman, the goal of the familiarisation visit was to analyse the issues and find ways to mitigate them.
He asked the contractor to do the work within the time range specified.
