The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ Sokoto State Command Permanent Administrative Headquarters has been officially opened by the federal government.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, during the project’s inauguration on Monday, the interior minister, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, proudly recognized the enormous change the corps has undergone in the past two years.
The permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr. Shuaibu Belgore, spoke on behalf of Aregbesola and praised the corps’ leadership for its perseverance and commitment to success.
He said it was important to note that the NSCDC had recently shown that it was ready to have a beneficial impact on the security of the country.
“The Corps is also devoted to enhancing the skills of its employees through routine training and programs to raise their morale for improved performance,” the official stated.
The minister reassured the corps that the government would support their continued efforts to improve performance as an additional measure to strengthen national security.
Aregbesola thanked Gov. Aminu Tambuwal for creating a climate that allowed the corps to successfully carry out its duty in the state.
The commandant general of the NSCDC, Mr. Ahmed Audi, praised the event as yet another significant success in the corps’ efforts to keep its honorable position within the country’s security architecture.
“What we are seeing today is proof of our commitment to improving the security of the state and the nation as a whole.
“The Federal Capital Territory and the states are also replicating this kind of project,” he claimed.
Audi continued, “The NSCDC has made staff welfare its top priority and is determined to continue developing strategic projects aimed at enhancing employee morale and performance.”
He expressed his gratitude to Tambuwal for providing a supportive work environment, noting that “it has in no small measure enhanced the performance of the corps mandate in the state.”
The state commissioner for security, Alhaji Abubakar Maikudi, spoke on behalf of Tambuwal, who expressed his gratitude for their assistance.
The governor stated, “I want to thank you very much for your support throughout my administration in the state and I want to reassure you that your sacrifice will never be in vain.
