The Federal Government has appointed, Dr. Uzoma Friday Ibeaja, as the acting rector for the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri.
In a statement by the institution’s public relations officer, Everest Nwosu on Thursday, March 28, said Dr. Ibeaja was appointed acting rector following the expiration of the tenure of Dr. Christopher Onyemenonu on March 10.
The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, in a letter Ref DTE/Poly/1073/C. I/T/1/42 dated March 22, 2024, named Dr. Ibeaja as acting rector with effect from March 11, 2024.
The statement said Ibeaja would remain the acting rector pending the appointment of a substantive rector in line with the Polytechnic Act as amended.
Before his appointment, Ibeaja was the deputy rector of the administration of the institution.
