Russian forces launched widespread attacks across multiple Ukrainian oblasts over the past day, resulting in the deaths of at least five civilians and injuries to at least 24 others, according to reports from regional authorities on April 10.
Daily assaults by Moscow’s troops continue to batter towns and villages throughout Ukraine, causing civilian casualties and significant infrastructure damage through the use of drones, missiles, artillery fire, and aerial bombardments.
Ukraine’s Air Force revealed that it successfully intercepted 85 out of the 145 drones, both attack and decoy types, launched by Russia overnight.
Additionally, 49 drones vanished from radar screens without causing any known damage, the military said in a statement.
Mykolaiv, a city in southern Ukraine, endured multiple drone strikes overnight, leaving at least 10 individuals injured and damaging several residential buildings, as confirmed by Mykolaiv Oblast Governor Vitalii Kim.
“A 29-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man were hospitalized in stable condition, while the others received outpatient care,” Governor Kim reported.
In Donetsk Oblast, Governor Vadym Filashkin disclosed that four people lost their lives in attacks on Novoekonomichne, Bahatyr, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk, while two others sustained injuries.
Kharkiv Oblast also saw a series of strikes, wounding three individuals. Governor Oleh Syniehubov said a 64-year-old man was injured in Kupiansk, a 50-year-old woman in Slobozhanske, and a 67-year-old woman in Bilyi Kolodiaz as a result of a drone strike.
Russian shelling in Kherson Oblast claimed the life of one person and injured two others, according to regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin.
The attacks also caused damage to a high-rise building and 12 houses.
Overnight drone strikes on Kyiv injured four people, with two requiring hospitalization, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported.
Damage was inflicted on homes, vehicles, an outbuilding, and a warehouse that caught fire, according to the State Emergency Service.
In Poltava Oblast, Governor Volodymyr Kohut noted that a man suffered minor injuries when debris from a Russian drone fell in the area.
Meanwhile, in Sumy Oblast, a man and a woman were also injured during Russian strikes, the regional military administration stated.
As the conflict intensifies, Ukrainian officials have noted that Russia’s anticipated spring offensive has likely already commenced.
Additionally, reports suggest over 160 Chinese nationals are involved in combat on the side of Russian forces.
