A former representative of Somolu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Wole Diya has passed away at the age of 63.
According to the NationDiya, who served two terms in the Green Chamber, died in the early hours of Friday, August 9th, 2024, just days before his 64th birthday on August 20th.
Diya was not only a key political figure in Somolu but also the younger brother of the late General Oladipo Diya, a former Chief of Defence Staff.
Before his tenure in the House of Representatives, he was a two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, where he represented Somolu State Constituency I.
Chairman of Bariga Local Council, Hon. Kolade Alabi David confirmed Diya’s passing and expressed his condolences, saying, “Hon. Wole Diya’s leadership was exemplary and left an enduring mark on both his political colleagues and the wider community. His contributions will not be forgotten.”
Diya’s death is a significant loss to his family, the All Progressives Congress and the constituents he served.
