The event began around 10 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023, with the burning of one trike and five motorcycles.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Ammani acknowledged the occurrence and directed that operatives be deployed to the area.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that 12 additional people had been detained in relation to the clash and the fatalities.
“Meanwhile, preliminary investigation shows that the clash is a result of a land ownership dispute between the villages,” he said.
