The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Biu, has condoled with the families of victims of the crash along the Onitsha-Awka Expressway, Anambra State, on Friday.
In a statement signed by the Corps Spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem on Friday, the Corps Marshal commended the FRSC response team for the swift response to the distressing situation which led to the immediate evacuation of the victims Divine Care Hospital
He also called on commercial vehicle operators, to exercise caution and be conscious of their environments whenever they drive, and also to avoid driving against stipulated speed limit on all roads.
According to Kazeem, the advise is to “To eradicate all incidences of road mishap arising from impatience and lack of mental alertness when on wheels.”
The PUNCH reports that the fatal crash occurred on Friday morning, involving a Mitsubishi L300 commercial Bus with vehicle registration number XE 245 AWK and a DAF Leyland Truck with registration number T-19094 LA at the Odumodu Junction by Nteje.
Five persons were reported to have lost their lives in the road accident.
