Galatasaray President, Dursun Özbek, has vowed to fend off any attempts to lure Victor Osimhen away from the club during the upcoming January transfer window.
The Nigerian striker has been in sensational form since arriving from Napoli last summer, becoming a vital part of Galatasaray’s attack.
Osimhen has netted nine goals in 12 appearances and added five assists, showcasing his versatility and impact on the pitch.
Despite signs that Osimhen is content at RAMS Park, rumours persist about potential interest from top European clubs. Chelsea, in particular, has been linked with the Super Eagles forward and may pursue him if they decide to sell Christopher Nkunku.
However, Özbek made it clear in an interview with A Spor via spor skor that Galatasaray is committed to keeping Osimhen.
He confirmed the club has an agreement in place to retain the striker until at least the end of the season.
“Victor Osimhen came like a 100-year-old Galatasaray and is adapting. If you see his attitude in Florya. I think we have a share here and I am very happy. Those who cannot adapt to this atmosphere cannot stay in Galatasaray anyway. He is our player this season,” Özbek stated.
He emphasized that Osimhen’s departure in January is unlikely due to a “very difficult clause” in his contract.
“There is a very difficult clause for him to leave during the mid-season break. According to our agreement, he will play for us until the end of the season. No one should bend it. He will make his own decision at the end of the season,” he added.
Osimhen, whose loan deal with Galatasaray runs until June 30, 2025, also remains committed to staying at RAMS Park, effectively ruling out a January exit.
