The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old resident of Bandila village in the Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State, Sale Kabo, for rustling cattle estimated at N7m.
According to The PUNCH, this was disclosed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, while parading the suspect.
The police PPRO said the case was reported by a 75-year-old man, Jauro Ahmadu, who owned the cattle.
“He said his 21 cows valued at N7m was stolen from his village at night,” Abubakar added.
According to a police spokesman, officers went into action and apprehended the perpetrator, who confessed to the crime.
He stated that all of the stolen cows and other relevant evidence had been retrieved.
Abubakar said, “The suspect is currently in police custody and will be charged as soon as investigation is concluded.”
