Motorists, commuters and other road users were Thursday, stranded for several hours in gridlock as a result of trailer which fell on the Otedola bridge near the Alausa secretariat in Lagos.
It was reported that security operatives consisting of the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army, Lagos State Traffic Mananagement Authority were present at the scene of the incident.
The Lagos-Ibadan expressway has been closed to all vehicular traffic coming from the secretariat in order to link CMD-Magodo road with the Otedola bridge and then back to the expressway.
There was no recorded death, but the trailer’s driver did suffer a right ankle injury, according to reports.
The trailer’s driver was attempting to avoid hitting a broken-down car when the accident happened.
