The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board has reported the death of another pilgrim from the state in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
This information was shared in a statement by the Kebbi Hajj 2024 Media Team on Sunday.
The Executive Chairman of the board, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, revealed that the deceased pilgrim was Abubakar Abdullahi, hailing from Gulma in Argungu Local Government Area.
According to Aliyu-Enabo, Abdullahi passed away after a brief illness.
Governor Nasir Idris expressed his sorrow over the death and offered prayers for Abdullahi, asking Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
“The governor also urged the immediate family of the deceased, friends, and Kebbi pilgrims to take heart and accept the will of God Almighty in good faith,” stated Aliyu-Enabo.
The deceased was buried according to Islamic rites following his funeral prayer at Masjid Al-Ihram (Ka’aba) on Friday.
This incident comes after the death of another Kebbi pilgrim, Tawalkatu Busare Alako from Jega Local Government Area, who died on May 27, 2024, also after a brief illness.
Additionally, on May 28, 2024, a Lagos pilgrim, Oloshogbo Idris, passed away in Makkah shortly after returning from the circumambulation of the Holy Kaaba.
