Speed Darlington, the controversial singer and content creator, has been missing for three days, sparking widespread concern.
His mother, identified as Queen, has publicly accused Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy of being involved in her son’s disappearance.
In a video that has circulated online, Queen made an emotional plea for Burna Boy to show mercy.
According to her, Darlington’s gateman informed the family that the singer was taken from his home by Burna Boy and his team, allegedly with the involvement of the police.
The disappearance reportedly followed a video Darlington made criticizing Burna Boy, which was posted online.
“I just got this information now that my son, Speed Darlington, is missing. His gateman called my family and notified them that there was a video Darlington made and put on the internet about Burna Boy. So, he notified my family that Burna Boy came with his team, and they picked him up from his house,” Queen said in the video.
She further pleaded with Burna Boy to “tamper justice with mercy” and release her son, expressing her anguish as a mother. “Please, Darlington is my only son. I am begging my fellow Nigerians. Burna Boy, I am begging you. My knee is on the ground. Please have mercy on my son. Forgive him,” she pleaded.
Darlington, known for his witty and provocative social media presence, has been notably silent since his disappearance. His last Instagram post was on September 8, further fueling concerns.
The video Queen referenced, in which Darlington reportedly taunted Burna Boy, involved remarks about the latter’s association with embattled rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and questioned how Burna Boy obtained his Grammy award.
Burna Boy’s recent cryptic tweet, “Who is missing?” has only added to the speculation surrounding Darlington’s disappearance, though no official statement has been made by Burna Boy or his representatives.
