Hunger protesters on Thursday convened at Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja to voice their discontent with the Federal Government over the severe hardship affecting Nigeria.
Adhering to a court order, the demonstrators restricted their activities to the designated facility.
Arriving as early as 6 am, the protesters sang solidarity songs and displayed various placards with inscriptions such as, “Enough is Enough,” “#EndBadGovernmentInNigeriaNow,” “Take it Back Movement,” and “Make Law Making Part Time Job.”
In a video shared on social media, protesters could be seen carrying these placards and chanting, “Why are we here? We are hungry. What are we saying? End bad government. Are we enjoying? No.”
The stadium was heavily guarded by armed security operatives to ensure order during the demonstration.
The protest, organized by activists and groups in response to the economic difficulties, began on August 1st and is slated to continue until August 10th.
