Two more bodies were on Thursday recovered from the rubble of the explosion in Deji Oyelese Bodija estate, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
With the latest figure, the number of deaths have increased to five with the initial two.
This was confirmed by the Special Adviser to governor Makinde on Security, Retd, CP Fatia Owoseeni while speaking on Channels TV.
Owoseeni said that government has continued to intensify efforts to rescue victims.
He said, “Right from the start when that incident happened we have immediately applied all those doctrines guiding the emergency disaster operations.
“Security is very strong in the area. We are not doing it alone we are doing with residents, victims and other security agents. Rescue operations is still ongoing as of yesterday we had 3 casualties death body.
“But just this morning two more dead bodies were recovered this morning. Lot if conversations are inviting see that people see what the government is doing.
“Putting each and pieces of information together. From the interactions that we have been having as a team, we have been getting credible documents that can be used to get investigation done.
“Evaluation is going to be done especially as regards to some of the structures in the area.”
