The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, has ordered the redeployment eight commissioners of police.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
He listed the CPs deployed as CP Etim Oqua Effiom, Gombe command; CO Mammam Dauda, Kano command; CP Aminu Alhassan, Bauchi State; CP Babatunde Babaita Ishola, CPTU staff college, Jos; CP Mamma Umar Sanda, fdc, X- Squad FCID annex Lagos; CP John Ayuba Babangida, FCID annex Gombe; CP Akinwale Adeniran, Safer Highway, FHQ, Abuja and CP Abubakar Lawal fdc, FCID annex Lagos.
The IGP also urged members of the public to disregard the rumors that the former Commissioner of Police in charge of Kano State, CP Abubakar Lawal, fdc, was redeployed from Kano on allegations of corruption.
Baba stated that the exercise was carried out in accordance with the force’s manpower development policy, and that it would help to improve policing services across the country.
He also enjoined Nigerians in the affected states to cooperate with the new CPs to enable them succeed in their new areas of responsibilities.
