The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has commenced the nationwide conduct of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, a visit to several of the Computer Based Centres in Abuja and its surrounds revealed that the test was devoid of technical glitches
At Global Distance Learning Institute, opposite Ministry of Finance, Central Business Area, Abuja, it was observed that as of 6:50 a.m., candidates were already waiting for the examination to start.
However, the first session which was billed for 8 am was delayed some minutes to 9 am.
On enquiry, an investigator who identified himself as Rilwanu disclosed that the session was moved to 8:30 am to give room for others and he was also awaiting further directives from the board.
Also, the High Opinion Leader for the examination, Mr Abdulrahman Balogun, added that the board had put everything in place but the delay was from the headquarters.
“I have been to some centres this morning from Jikwoyi, Karu to AYA and now at the Global Distance Learning Institute.
“At this centre, they are to have three sessions, the first session is to start at 7:00a.m and students were expected to arrive at 6:30 am. The second session is to start at 9:00a.m, while the third session starts at 11:00 a.m.
“We had some little delay at this centre, the examination that ought to have started at 7:00 a.m did not start and when asked I was told it was not due to any technical hitch but they were waiting for a signal from JAMB headquarters,” he said.
