American actor, Jamie Foxx’s hospitalization due to a “medical complication” has left Netflix producers in a bind as the actor still has eight days of filming left on his upcoming action-comedy Back in Action.
Although it is uncertain when Foxx will return to the set, multiple sources claim that the team is trying to finish filming by next week.
There is no information yet if the script will need to be revised due to Foxx’s absence or if they will continue to use a stand-in for him.
Reports suggest that some changes have already been made to the production, with one scene initially planned for filming on Saturday being scrapped. Additionally, several extras were informed of “changes in production.”
The 55-year-old Oscar winner is reportedly “doing better” and is currently under the care of medical staff as they conduct tests to determine the cause of his medical emergency, which has not been disclosed to the public.
Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, announced his hospitalization on Instagram and requested privacy for the family.
She wrote, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
Back in Action is a highly anticipated Netflix action-comedy in which Foxx was set to star before his hospitalization.
The production team is said to be grappling with the situation and trying to figure out how best to proceed while wishing Foxx a speedy recovery.
