Exciting news for soccer fans as Spanish defender, Jordi Alba is all set to reunite with his former Barcelona teammates, Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets, at Inter Miami.
The Major League Soccer club’s president, Jorge Mas, confirmed that Alba, aged 34, has already signed a contract and will be available for selection in the upcoming match against Atlanta on Tuesday.
Alba’s departure from Barcelona marks the end of an illustrious career with the Spanish giants.
With over 10 years at the club, he made an impressive 459 appearances and scored 27 goals, contributing significantly to securing six La Liga titles and the 2015 Champions League trophy.
Now, the trio of former Barcelona stars will join forces again. Alongside Alba, Argentina’s World Cup-winning legend, Lionel Messi, aged 36, and the Spanish midfield maestro, Sergio Busquets, aged 35, have already made their way to Inter Miami with deals until 2025.
The recent grand welcome for Messi and Busquets at Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium, in front of an enthusiastic crowd of approximately 20,000 fans, added to the excitement surrounding the club.
The presence of co-owner and former England captain, David Beckham, in the presentation further enhanced the spectacle.
With Messi’s highly anticipated first appearance for Inter Miami coming soon, soccer enthusiasts are thrilled to see the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner in action.
