Former Scotland football manager, Craig Brown, is reported dead. The 82 years old Brown died as an aftermath of a brief illness.
Before his demise, he was Scotland’s longest-serving manager having taken charge of 71 games between 1993 and 2001.
While on the national team, he guided Scotland to Euro ’96 and the 1998 World Cup.
The soccer star started his managerial career at Clyde, before moving to Preston North End and Motherwell and ended his career at Aberdeen in 2013.
According to a statement by the deceased family, “Craig died peacefully today after a short illness in University Hospital, Ayr, surrounded by close family members.
“The family wish to express their deep appreciation of the outstanding care and attention provided by hospital staff and the countless messages of support and sympathy from friends and colleagues.
“At this particularly sad time the family now requests that their privacy is respected during the grieving process.”
