Three police officers serving as escorts to the managing director of an undisclosed oil company, have been shot and killed by gunmen believed to be kidnappers in the Rumuokoro neighborhood of Rivers State’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The police escorts, according to situational report, were inside a Hilux car which was part of the MD’s convoy, when the alleged kidnappers reportedly opened fire on them in order to successfully kidnap the MD.
Available information also added that the gunmen first fired on the car conveying the police officers before blocking the vehicle the top oil worker was rode on.
