The Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State is under a 24-hour curfew enforced by the state’s governor, Caleb Mutfwang.
This was announced by the Governor on Sunday in a statement that was signed by his director of press and public affairs, Gyang Bere.
It was discovered that the 24-hour curfew imposed in Mangu LGA is the second in less than one month put in place in response to recent gunman attacks in the council area that resulted in the destruction of life and property.
The statement said, “The Governor imposed the curfew over the whole Local Government Area in collaboration with the State Security Council to restore peace and order.
“As a result, except for security staff and others performing vital activities, all internal movements within the Local Government have been suspended until further notice.”
According to the statement, security organizations have been told to ensure that the curfew is strictly enforced, however, the statement gave the populace reassurance by assuring them that the government is working nonstop to reestablish peace and security in the state.
