The Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Academic Board has authorised the withdrawal of 313 students due to poor academic performance in the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic session.
The withdrawal came after the Academic Board Central Result Verification Committee’s report was discussed in the Board meeting on June 22, 2023, at the 200 Twin Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, Lokoja.
According to a statement made on Friday by the chief of the public relations and protocol section, Omale Oredo, the withdrawal is divided into seventeen (17) departments and twenty-eight (28) projects.
The Board, chaired by Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, Rector of the Polytechnic, stated that the decision was part of the school’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and developing deserving academic ambassadors.
Dr. Usman expressed gratitude to the Chairman and members of the Central Result Verification Committee, as well as the entire Academic Board, for their ongoing support and upholding of academic standards.
He charged the Deans of Schools, as well as the Heads of Departments and Units, with providing consistent leadership at all times.
He did, however, charge students with making proper use of the available academic facilities, as well as with adhering by the law and avoiding any social vices both on and off campus.
