The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has launched its annual sensitisation campaign in preparation for the 2025 Christian pilgrimage.
According to a statement posted on the Lagos State Government’s website on Tuesday, the Board Secretary, Dr. Gbolabo Okudero, led a team of CPWB officials on courtesy visits to various local government and local council development areas, including Mushin Local Government, and the Isolo and Ejigbo LCDAs.
The statement read in part, “At Mushin Local Government, the team was warmly received by the Executive Chairman, Honourable Emmanuel Olanrewaju Bamgboye. In Isolo and Ejigbo LCDAs, the CPWB delegation was hosted by the respective Council Managers, Mrs. Ogabi M.F. (Isolo) and Dr. Olusegun Ajaguna (Ejigbo), who represented their Chairmen – Otunba Adebayo Olasoju and Honourable Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello, respectively.”
During the meetings, Okudero highlighted the importance of a comprehensive approach to governance, urging local government leaders to focus not just on socio-economic development but also on the spiritual well-being of their people.
“Spiritual well-being is vital to building a complete individual and a morally upright society,” he stressed.
Okudero also discussed the Board’s strategic plans for the 2025 pilgrimage, encouraging collaboration to boost participation in the pilgrimage among Christians within their communities.
The sensitisation initiative marks the start of the CPWB’s mobilization efforts for the upcoming 2025 pilgrimage, underscoring the Board’s dedication to fostering spiritual growth throughout Lagos State.
