Under the Revised Structured Training Programme, the Lagos State Government has begun the 2023 promotion procedure for officers on Grade Levels 01-16 in parastatal institutions and those on Grade Levels 01-05 in the mainstream public service.
The exercise commenced on Monday and is currently being conducted simultaneously at the Public Service Staff Development and Women Development Centre. It is scheduled to conclude on July 24, 2023.
According to a statement released on Monday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Establishments and Training,Mr. Olawale Musa, initiated the exercise and stated that the revised structured training programme was implemented as a substitute for the written promotion examination, which was previously utilised as the criterion for promotion.
According to Musa, the training programme is expected to enhance the professional development of officers and he strongly urged them to actively engage in the learning process and approach the material with a high level of seriousness.
“The training comprises sessions which are aimed at enlightening officers on the activities of the state government and job-specific sessions to have more robust exercise in addition to the generic training.
“At the PSSDC, there will be one training session with a series of sub-sessions for officers on Grade Levels 10-16 and this will run from Monday to Friday except Wednesday and Thursday, which will be for job-specific sessions.
“The Women Development Centre will have two sessions for officers on Grade Levels 1-5,” the statement added.
