A Magistrate Court, sitting in Igbosere, Lagos, has ordered the remand of two suspects, Samsudeen Oluwo also known as Ese Olobo and Sunday Olabayo at the correctional centre for conspiracy, illegal possession of firearms and attempted murder.
Magistrate BA Sonuga order was a sequel to advice from the Director of Public Prosecution on Ese Olobo and others.
The court however discharged and acquitted, Lawal Ibrahim Adefemi, Gbenga Demurin, Idowu Mujaheed and Dare Majekodunmi, who were also charged alongside the remanded suspects.
Top Lagos real estate practitioner, Saeed Mosadoluwa had some months ago accused Ese Olobo of attempting to kill him on the order of a top real estate agent in the Lekki area of the state.
Samsudeen Oluwo popularly known as Ese Olobo however accused Mosadoluwa of dehumanising and harassing him after the failed murder attempt.
The court also ordered further investigation into the masterminds behind the plot.
The Lagos State DPP had in a letter with the reference number CB:3510/X/FHQ/ ABJ/PPRO/VOL.11/96, highlighted that there was sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case of conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearms against Shamsudeen Oluwo and Olabayo.
The charges also included wilful damage to property and forcible possession.
The case has therefore been adjourned to January 23, 2024, for mention at the state high court.
Magistrate B A Sonuga ruled that; “In view of the DPP’s advice No LJP / MSC/ 2023 /279/14 dated n by 16/10/2023, the following defendants, namely: Lawal Ibrahim, Adefemi Idowu Mujaheed, Dare Majekodunmi, and Gbenga Demorin are hereby discharged and acquitted while Shamsideen Oluwo and Sunday Olabayo are to be remanded in prison custody for them to be arraigned at the High Court in line with the DPP advice .”
The Magistrate also said that; “Case is adjourned to 23/01/2024 for mention”.
