The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has called on Igbos residing in Lagos State to relocate their investments to the Southeast.
Ohanaeze made this call in a statement through the factional Secretary-General of the organization, Okechukwu Isiguzoro.
It admonished them to see the ongoing demolition exercises in Lagos as a reminder of the need for self-reliance.
Ohanaeze noted that cities like Aba, Abakiliki, and Onitsha have immense potential for growth; hence, Igbos should consider investing in these areas.
The statement read, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo encourages Igbos to seize this moment as an opportunity to reassess their investments and consider relocating them to the Eastern region.
“Our vibrant cities, such as Aba, Abakiliki, and Onitsha, offer immense potential for growth and development. By investing and building international markets in these areas, we can create prosperous economic hubs that will benefit not only the Igbo people but also contribute to the overall development of Nigeria.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo calls on all Igbo residents in Lagos to come together and support one another during this challenging period. Together, we can navigate through these difficulties and forge a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come.”
