The Lagos State Government has ordered individuals occupying the Oja Oba Underbridge at Adeniji Adele to vacate within 24 hours after officials discovered a section being used for livestock rearing.
Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the eviction notice on Wednesday via a post on X.com, accompanied by a video of the clearance operation.
“During our clearance operation at Oja Oba Underbridge, Adeniji Adele, we discovered a section being used for livestock rearing. This misuse of public infrastructure poses environmental and safety risks,” Wahab stated.
He further emphasized that the government is committed to reclaiming public spaces and ensuring proper environmental management across the state.
“The occupants have been given 24 hours to vacate before we proceed with the removal of all illegal shanties,” he added.
