The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary diversion of night traffic on the Sura Ramp leading to Osborne, Lagos Island, to facilitate road repairs.
According to an official statement released on X.com on Tuesday, the diversion will take place from 10 PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, to 4 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
The government emphasized that the diversion is necessary for the asphaltic resurfacing of the affected road section. “Motorists traveling from the Third Mainland Bridge will be unable to turn right towards Osborne during the repair period.
Instead, they will need to proceed to Obalende or Onikan to continue their journeys,” the statement clarified.
Additionally, the statement noted that “motorists from Sura will be required to turn right towards Onikan as the ramp will be inaccessible.”
The government urged drivers to exercise patience during the diversion, emphasizing that it is part of broader traffic management efforts aimed at rehabilitating the Osborne Road section
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation,” the statement added.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly during the repair period.
