The Lagos State Police Command has detained a woman identified as Dorcas Oluwabukola for reportedly scalding her husband with hot water in Meiran over suspicions of infidelity.
According to The PUNCH, a police source from the Meiran division, preferring anonymity, mentioned that once the investigation concludes, she’ll be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department.
The incident occurred approximately five days ago and gained traction on various social media platforms.
Allegedly, the wife got upset when her husband attended a childhood friend’s wedding without her, sparking a confrontation resulting in the alleged crime.
The police source reassured the public of a comprehensive investigation into the matter, mentioning that the division is closely monitoring the husband’s recovery as he remains hospitalized following the incident.
The source said, “It is true the incident happened. The incident happened about six days ago. It was a true story. She poured hot water on her husband purposely because she felt that he cheated on her.
“They were supposed to go to a party together. However, the husband went all alone. We are still monitoring the progress of the husband because he has been hospitalised since that day. He has not been discharged.
