Lagos youths have gathered to kick off their #EndBadGovernment protest, scheduled to start on Thursday, August 1.
The demonstrators, in significant numbers, converged at the Ikeja Underbridge, planning to move towards Ojota.
This protest, which began today, is slated to continue until August 10.
The protest is a response to the current economic hardships plaguing the country.
Many Nigerians have raised their voices to express grievances about the high cost of living, widespread hunger, high levels of unemployment, and limited access to quality education, among other pressing issues.
By 8 am, a large crowd of protesters had assembled, chanting solidarity songs and holding placards demanding better governance.
The protest is occurring amidst a heavy security presence, including the police, Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps, and civil defense forces.
While the number of vehicles on major roads like the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Alausa routes was sparse, hundreds of youths are nonetheless marching from the Underbridge, making their demands heard.
