A petroleum tanker accident near Otedola Bridge in Lagos State has drawn the attention of local residents, who have gathered at the scene to scoop spilled fuel.
While details of the accident is yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report, viral clips of the incident showed some of the residents scooping fuel at the scene of the incident.
This situation was agains the government’s prior advisory that warned individuals to maintain a safe distance from fuel tankers due to the inherent risk of explosion.
With the incident, many Nigerians have taken to social media to condemn the act.
@Iam_Mazi in a post on Instagram posted,” Them don start again, Nigerians will never learn. Make fire breakout now, they will turn to barbecue immediately.
Another IG user posted, “It is like some humans are naturally drawn towards things that can kill them.”
While @Josh posted, “I wish them whatever they wish themselves, no time for nonsense.”
