Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has vowed to take a legal action against Ohis Emmanuel, the husband of a popular Disc Jockey, Kudirat Gbemisola, known as DJ Kulet, over alleged molestation of a 13-year-old girl.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency revealed this in a statement published on X on Tuesday.
Ohis Emmanuel, the spouse of renowned disc jockey Kudirat Gbemisola, widely recognized as DJ Kulet, has been implicated in a series of child molestation allegations.
Gbemisola brought these allegations to light in a separation announcement shared on her social media platforms on Monday.
The DJ confirmed that her husband had been involved in the dastard acts for a very long time, and she had forgiven him occasionally, leading her to contract infection three times.
She wrote, “I, DJ KULET, am publicly disassociating myself from my ex-husband, Ohis Emmanuel (aka Benjamin), due to his egregious and reprehensible actions.
“Despite overwhelming evidence (including chats, photos, videos, and voice notes) of his infidelity, he has refused to change his ways. The final straw was the shocking discovery of his prolonged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old minor, which occurred under my roof for six months.
“Previously, I had forgiven him after he shifted the blame for his infidelity to external influences, unaware of the extent of his abuse. Further investigation, including a video confession on December 28th, 2024, revealed that he had also molested his 20-year-old cousin, resulting in her contracting an infection, as well as her friend. His predatory behavior predominantly targets minors, and he continues to engage in infidelity with multiple women. In our short-lived marriage of less than 8 months, I have treated infections three times.
She emphasized that her primary goal has always been to safeguard victims of abuse and bring offenders to justice. Adding to her statement, she said, “I urge everyone to be vigilant and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.”
A separate video circulating on social media showed the estranged husband admitting to child molestation and pleading for forgiveness from his ex-wife.
In response to the incident on Tuesday, DSVA strongly condemned the act and called on anyone with relevant information about the DJ to come forward, pledging to ensure the perpetrator is held accountable.
Taking to its X handle, DSVA wrote, “We appreciate everyone who brought the incident of child sexual abuse posted by @Olamide0fficial to our attention. As the Statutory Agency in Lagos State dedicated to preventing and responding to domestic and sexual violence, we take this very seriously.
“Violence in any form is unacceptable, and the Lagos State Government maintains a zero-tolerance stance against it. We have reached out to DJ Kulet via Instagram DM, but if anyone has more information, kindly get in touch with us immediately.
“Please use our toll-free hotline: 08000 333 333 or send us a direct message through our social media platforms. Every child deserves protection, no matter who they are or where they come from!”
Efforts to contact Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, for updates on the case were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone went unanswered at the time of filing this report.
Ohis Emmanuel and Kudirat Gbemisola were married in early April 2024.
