The late Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Kwara State command, Adeyinka Adebayo Oyun, was laid to rest in his hometown, Ipee, in Oyun Local Government Area of the state.
He passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, and was finally laid to rest on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
The official interment was a solemn occasion, marked by a body of parade and a 21-gun salute by the officers and men of the service in his honor.
Dignitaries from across the country attended the ceremony, including the representative of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, the Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Olayiwola Oyebode Ojo, and the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Ayodele Abiodun Adebara.
Also in attendance were the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, represented by Deputy Controller General of Corrections, Akinrujomu Tosin, as well as heads of various Armed Forces and Paramilitary Agencies within and outside the state.
The ceremony was a fitting tribute to a dedicated public servant, showcasing the respect and honor he earned during his service.
