Nigerian singer, Oxlade has alleged that he was blackmailed with his s3xtapes for two year before it eventually got leaked on the internet.
During an interview, the ‘Kulosa’crooner said the scandal made him lose endorsement deals worth N400m.
He further revealed that while it was a big relief for him not to continue paying the blackmailer, it affected his family as his grandmother kept asking if he wanted to “k!ll” her.
He further revealed that it pushed him into a dark phase as he had to also go in for rehab in the UK.
He said “It was a peace of mind for me because I was been blackmailed for two years. I paid the blackmail money.
“I lost all my endorsement deals. We have got a very might hypocritic system that nobody bothers to know what happened. When you get to be bashed, market value tends to depart from you. I got every side of it. I lost all my endorsement deals. Four of them, up to like four hundred million.
“The side effects was hearing my grandma cry. She asked if I was going to kill her. She asked if I was going to be the one that buries her. I went into a rehab.”
Oxlade also said that Nigerians should have known it was an agenda against him as not just one video was released, but many.
The singer added that all he learnt from saga was that it is those closest to you that can hurt you, as some people were afraid of his growth. He also disclosed that he grew and went on to have one of the biggest song in the country last year.
