Former Barcelona and Spain coach Luis Enrique has been appointed as the new coach of French Ligue 1 giant Paris Saint-Germain.
The 53-year-old who had previously served as the coach of the Spanish national team until being dismissed in December, has been appointed as the successor to Christophe Galtier following his departure from the club.
Luis Enrique was officially introduced by Paris Saint-Germain during a press conference held at their recently constructed training facility in Poissy, located in the north-western region of France. The unveiling took place in the presence of Nasser al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG, which is supported by Qatar.
“I’m delighted to be joining Paris in order to enjoy a new experience,” Luis Enrique said in a club statement.
“It’s so exciting to meet new people, to live in this city, to learn a new language and, above all, to manage PSG.”
