Popular Nigerian singer, Adewale Emmanuel Mayowa, better known as Mayorkun, has launched a N1 billion lawsuit against TikTok celebrity, Precious Kingsley, popularly known as Nicki DaBarbie, for defamation and accusation of being a ritualist.
It was gathered that the dancer said that Mayorkun and Skiibii were attempting to exploit her for occult rites, claiming to have narrowly escaped after praying intensely.
Nickie DaBarbie went further that the people who had abused her threatened to sue her if news got out.
In a video shared on social media, the influencer narrated her experience, alleging threats of legal action against her if she disclosed further details. She also expressed concerns about attempts to discredit her by falsely portraying her as being under the influence of drugs.
Mayorkun had recently posted a letter requesting that she stop making disparaging remarks about him, dispelling all of the accusations.
Nicki DaBarbie, the popular tiktoker was also instructed to take down the offensive publications across all social media platforms within 24 hours.
Mayorkun filed a N1 billion lawsuit against Nicki DaBarbie, in damages for emotional anguish, lost endorsements, and legal bills, as well as to issue a formal apology to Mayorkun in two national newspapers.
In a letter prepared by his legal counsels, Monarchs & Stroud Legal Practitioners, signed by Associate Oluwagbemiga Ogunlade and Founding Partner Kolawole Hassan, denied the allegations and demanded immediate retraction and apology.
“Our client denies all allegations made against him as baseless, bizarre, and untrue. Your reckless remarks have caused him financial loss and emotional trauma, tarnishing his reputation,” the letter read.
