Chelsea and Super Eagles legend John Mikel Obi has disclosed that he will be joining the World IX team to face England in the upcoming Soccer Aid for UNICEF charity match.
This exciting news will see the former Nigeria international make a return to Stamford Bridge.
Mikel Obi, who played for Chelsea from 2006 to 2017, winning Premier League and Champions League titles, has been confirmed for the Soccer Aid lineup.
He has since called time on his illustrious career, transitioning into a football personality involved in several off-pitch activities.
While he has explored various off-pitch activities post-retirement, including podcast hosting and award show appearances, Mikel Obi still enjoys occasional returns to the field for charity matches and testimonials, with the Soccer Aid clash being his latest venture.
