Nacho Fernandez is poised to depart Real Madrid for Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah following the conclusion of his contract at the end of June.
The defender will commit to a two-year deal with Al Qadsiah, a newly promoted side in Saudi Arabia, where he is set to earn €10 million.
Al Qadsiah finalized the agreement in the last hours after Nacho underwent a medical earlier in the week.
This marks a significant move for a player who has dedicated 23 years to the Spanish giants, always prioritizing the club’s interests over his own.
Having led the club to their 15th Champions League title and their 36th La Liga title, Nacho is excited about the fresh challenge at Al Qadsiah, where he will be managed by former Real Madrid player Michel.
Born in Madrid, Nacho joined Real Madrid’s youth system at 11 years old and made his senior debut in 2008–09.
On April 23, 2011, Nacho made his first-team – and La Liga – debut, starting as a left back in a 6–3 away win against Valencia, playing the full match.
He amassed over 300 appearances and secured numerous trophies, including a joint record six Champions Leagues, a feat he shares with Paco Gento, Luka Modrić, Toni Kroos, and Dani Carvajal.
With 26 trophies in total, Nacho is one of the most decorated players in Real Madrid’s history, tied with Modrić.
