The appointments of top senior officers in the Nigerian Navy have been reshuffled, with 56 rear admirals and a Commodore being replaced.
According to The PUNCH, this was disclosed by the Director of Information, Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, in a statement on Thursday.
He stated that those affected by the reshuffling are Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole formerly the Director of Logistics, Defence Space Administration, is now appointed as the Chief of Communications and Information Technology, Naval Headquarters while Rear Admiral Alexander Bingel formerly Director Combat Policy and Tactics is now the Director of Logistics, Defence Headquarters.
Others include Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, formerly Director of Project Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation Directorate, Naval Headquarters, has been appointed as Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation, Defence Headquarters, while Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete, formerly Director of Project Monitoring, Defence Headquarters, has been reassigned as Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Livingstone Izu, the former Director Manning at Naval Headquarters, has been named the new Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters, while Rear Admiral Musa Madugu, the former Deputy Director Special Operation Forces at Defence Headquarters, has been named Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordinance Depot.
Additionally, Rear Admiral Zakariya Muhammad, the former Director of Training at Naval Headquarters, has been reappointed Chief of Training and Operations. Rear Admiral Daupreye Matthew, the former Director of Innovation and Concept Development at Naval Headquarters, is now the Director of Training at Defence Headquarters.
Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima, who was formerly the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, is moving to Defence Headquarters to serve as Director of Plans, while Rear Admiral Emmanuel Nmoyem has been reappointed as Director Human Rights Desks at Defence Headquarters.
Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere, a former Naval Headquarters director of plans, has been named the organization’s chief of defence administration. Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje, a former Defence Headquarters director of equipment standardisation and harmonisation, has been named group managing director of Navy Holdings Limited, among other positions.
