The Super Eagles’ forward duo, Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho, will not participate in the team’s friendly match against Mozambique, according to an update on the team’s official handle.
Osimhen was substituted in the recent 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia, and the decision to exclude him from the Mozambique clash was described as a “precautionary measure on advice of the medical team.”
Kelechi Iheanacho has been excused from the squad to attend to “pressing personal issues.”
Both players were part of the team in the game against Saudi Arabia, with Iheanacho scoring during the match.
The friendly match against Mozambique is scheduled to take place at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira, Portugal, with a kick-off time of 4 p.m. (WAT).
Despite the absence of Osimhen and Iheanacho, the Super Eagles will aim to deliver a strong performance in the game against Mozambique.
